About us

Amici della Mongolfiera is a voluntary association founded in January 2012 with the aim of promoting social and family solidarity, as well as encouraging meetings and exchanges between different cultures. In collaboration with the Social Consortium of Pavia, the association has activated the Immigration Help Desk and the Family Help Desk to offer support and guidance to those who need it.

The association organizes basic and advanced level Italian courses for adults and children, and offers a homework help service for middle and high school students. Since 2013, Amici della Mongolfiera has also been present in the Torre del Gallo prison in Pavia, where it carries out various social and cultural projects, including SHARAD and WIP, aimed at the reintegration and support of detained people. In 2015, as part of the “Stretti in Scena” theater project financed by the Province of Pavia, the “Uomini Senza Barriere” theater company was born, promoting theater as a tool for inclusion and redemption. Furthermore, the "MaResisto" association was founded, dedicated to protecting the rights of prisoners and their families.

Currently, Amici della Mongolfiera is involved in the Qua la Zampa project for the management of a kennel, and collaborates with the University of Pavia and the CNAO Foundation to facilitate the entry of foreigners into university and healthcare facilities. Furthermore, it participates in the NAI - New Arrivals in Italy project, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pavia, for the reception and support of recently immigrated students at the Acerbi Comprehensive Institute.
